Biker crime down, missing bodies
Since the break-in and theft of explosives from a construction supply company last month the biker gang known referred to by the media as the "Dark Riders" have become a much more scarce than in the prior two months. While the area police have arrested no gang members they are laying responsibility on the reduced crime on the stricter policies that they have imposed.
On the evening of Tuesday, August 22rd police responded to a disturbance report in the Presidio district of San Francisco. The anonymous caller indicated that he had just passed a small group of bikers matching the general description of the Dark Riders parked on a side street and that they appeared to be engaged in some sort of fight under the cover of a nearby grove of trees. Upon arrival the police found two motorcycles and the deceased bodies of two gang members, as well as indicators that a large scale knife fight had occurred.
The bodies were transported to the city morgue where the intake report indicated that they were heavily mangled with what appeared to be knife wounds. Though nothing unusual appeared on the morgue's security cameras, when the county coroner arrived in the morning to perform an autopsy the bodies had gone missing and have yet to be recovered.

Serial murders
On the morning of Friday, July 21st another bloody scene was uncovered in Golden Gate park. A jogger on the island in Stow Lake noticed an unpleasant odor coming from the underbrush, and upon investigation discovered dried blood leading into the underbrush. A photo snapped on his picture phone that has been distributing around the internet shows a patch of freshly disturbed earth seeping blood and covered with swarms of insects.
Police arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and cleared the island. Sheriff Michael Hennessey released a preliminary report indicating that parts from at least four recently deceased bodies were found at the site, and has requested that the mayors office shutdown the entire park to foot traffic until the investigation is complete. Media rumors also indicate that there were at least a dozen missing person reports filed within the last seven days for individuals last seen within six blocks of the park.
Biker Crime
The biker gang dubbed the "Dark Riders" by the press has continued to harass southern Marin county, and has begun to cause problems in the Presidio, Marina, and northern Richmond districts of San Francisco. On July 11th members of the gang broke into a sportsmen supply store in San Rafael, coming away with a large stock of hunting bows and crossbows. Since that time a number of investigating officers have had arrows shot at them, one ending up in critical condition at the UCSF Medical Center.

Serial murders continue
On Tuesday, June 20th a gardener at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate park reported finding a detached human finger while replanting a bed of flowers. The police were called in and discovered the remains of a teenager buried under several feet of dirt. Forensic reports indicate the remains to be those of Jennifer McKellan, reported missing by her parents on June 8th, with the time of death corresponding to the date of her disappearance. Cause of death was listed as blood loss and forensics believe that most of her dismemberment occurred after her death.
San Francisco Sheriff Michael Hennessey called a press conference shortly after news of the murder hit the press, indicating that after this most recent body a large team of officers searched the park on foot and discovered an additional two bodies within the park though no names have been released. He further announced the formation of a special task force dedicated to the case and that the Golden Gate park will be closed 30 minutes before sunset to all access except through traffic from 19th Street.
Troublesome bikers in Marin county
Over the last month a gang of bikers, dubbed the "Dark Riders" by the press, has been seen throughout southern Marin county, harassing drivers, breaking business windows, and other general mayhem. The police have yet to successfully bring any member of the gang in for questioning, and the one direct confrontation between two officers and several members of the gang resulted with both officers suffering serious wounds from which they are currently recovering. Anyone with information on this group is requested to contact their local police department.

Old news: Week of October 22nd - 28th
The Bay Area news sources were filled with reports regarding a fire in San Francisco on the evening of Saturday October 22nd. In an incident that authorities believe to be arson an estate in the Lake Merced area burnt to the ground. A number of bodies were found both in the debris and the lawn. Several of these bodies were recently deceased, however several were also in more advanced stages of decay and have been matched to several of the missing bodies from earlier this year.
Over the next several days, further bodies were discovered around the city that also matched bodies missing from the morgue, the missing refugees from Katrina, as well as other missing person reports. These bodies were found haphazardly dumped in seemingly random locations. The police have not released any info regarding this case beyond a suspected link between the arson and the recovered bodies.
Thursday, December 15th
At approximately 2AM Thursday morning San Francisco police responded to reports of a loud disturbance in the western end of Golden Gate Park. Upon arrival in the vicinity officials discovered a number of newly downed and broken trees as well as a good deal of spattered blood. Upon further investigation they discovered that a nearby storm drain had been broken open and found a recently deceased body in the tunnels behind it.
While scouring the area for further evidence, police also uncovered two shallow graves hidden beneath carefully replaced sod and leaves containing an additional five bodies. The authorities are being tight with the details of the investigation, however it has been leaked to the press that the bodies were in varying stages of decay and the state of the bodies has led the police to believe these may be a continuation of the serial murders believed to have concluded in April.
Friday, December 16th
On Thursday and Friday evening a number of odd news reports were filed regarding the odd behavior of animals in Golden Gate Park and surrounding neighborhoods. These reports indicate that small packs of dogs, cats, raccoons, rats, and pigeons were fighting each other in the open, generating a large number of noise complaints and reports to animal control. Animal control has thus far been unable to control these packs, nor have they offered an explanation for this unusual activity.

Bodies begin to go missing once again
Police were chastised this week when corpses once again began to vanish. The problem that plagued the city months ago seems to be back, with no headway made as to the who's and why's. No longer are the disapearances kept to cadavars and mortuaries, several reports of small cemeteries having graves disrupted are filtering in.
Missing girls traced to possible slave ring
Earlier this month, four young girls from St. Maria's Academy, a uni-sex boarding school, went missing. The only leads have come from anonymous sources pointing to a rumoured slave ring forming within the city. Parents are urged to stress the importance of staying together when away from trusted adults, not approaching unknown individuals, and other important safety information for children of this age. Complimentary booklets will be handed out to parents by local schools.
Bungled bureacracy makes lives harder for Katrina refugees
It was a proud moment for our city to be able to take in hundreds of Katrina refugees. This last week, this was marred by the 'loss' of nearly two dozen people. A reliable source informed us that no one was in charge of the paperwork, so it was passed amongst several organizations. Somewhere in the process, the nubmer of refugees accounted for went from 475 to 454. Members of the family of misplaced individuals are already putting together a class action lawsuit.

Historical House burned to the ground
Friday, August 12th. A historical victorian house in the Haight burned to the ground during the night. Police have ruled it an arson. Neighbors report hearing loud motorcycles and yells. Reliable source inside the police department have also reported that three bikers throwing makeshift fire bombs were seen at the house.
No arrests have been made, and police are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
Silver Heist gone wrong
Wednesday, August 18th. Wednesday night, a local shipping companies holding house was broken into. The only thing stolen were two crates of unfinished silver destined to be worked into jewlery. Tragically, a security guard was killed during the execution of the robbery.
Details are still sketchy, but we know a van was driven though the front gate shortly after midnight. Cameras then caught three men loading the crates of unfinished silver into the van. The security guard tried to intervene, but was savagely beaten with what appears to have been golf clubs, and loaded into the van as well.

Drug deal gone foul
Last week, the SFPD released a report indicating they had discovered a grisly scene believed to be a major drug deal gone sour in an unoccupied townhouse in the upper Mission. The police were called to the scene in the early morning of June 19th after an anonymous 911 caller reported screaming coming from the area.
They discovered five bodies, three of them known drug trafficking suspects. The known suspects appeared to have been beaten to death, while gunshots were the cause of death for the two unknown individuals. Evidence was present that a large quantity of cocaine had been at the scene but could not be located. Forensics indicate that there may have been as many as four additional persons at the scene of the crime.
When combined with other recent drug activity the police suspect that a new player is entering the drug scene and that this was a move to increase the new group's market share.
Recovered corpses
In other news, several of the corpses that went missing from city morgues last month have been recovered. The SFPD have not released further info regarding the circumstances.
Cult slayings
Around midnight on June 21st the SFFD delivered a badly beaten individual to San Francisco General. Police report that this individual was recovered from a mass murder scene where five dead bodies were discovered, all apparently beaten to death.
Police report that evidence at the crime scene indicate that the group were involved in some form of cult activities, with various "Satanistic" items currently being examined by forensic. Speculation is rampant regarding a connection between these slayings, the student found dead last month, and the disappearances over the last several months.
Serial murders update
No further update has been given regarding the five serial murders in April. Police believe that the culprit has either fled the area or gone to ground, and progress on the case has ground to a halt.

Further details of the serial slayings have slowly been leaked to the press. With the exception of the already sedated victim at the UCSF Medical Center, all victims were initially stunned or knocked unconscious through a blunt head impact. They were then somehow drained of most of their blood, and the corpses mutilated with a sharp object of some type. Several abdominal organs were missing from each body, though which organs differed from victim to victim. In addition, several fingers were removed from each body before they were left at the site of the attacks.
The police forensic departments have been unable to locate any connection between the victims, nor have they located any biological materials common to the victims that could be used to identify the attacker.
No further bodied have been found since the attack on April 24th.
--
Over the last several months there has been a rash of similar missing person reports filed. In each instance, the missing person was a college student at a San Francisco facility whose friends and family reported a change in routine and personality prior to their disappearance.
On May 14th, the body of one of these missing persons was found floating in Lake Merced near the campus of SFSU. Initial cause of death appeared to be drowning, however the complete autospy revealed the actual cause of death to be strangulation. No finger prints could be acquired, however the bruising pattern indicated that the assailant was a relatively large male, likely between 6'8" and 7'4" in height. Additionally, patterns desribed as "Satanistic" were found branded over the victim's heart which were only partially healed at the time of death.
Police now believe these disappearances to be cult related.

Sunday, April 24th
A fourth name has been added to the list of gruesome murders that have taken place in the Bay area over the last two weeks. A female student at SFSU was brought to the emergency room at the UCSF medical center around 1AM Sunday morning for knife wounds resulting from a bar fight in the Marina. She was stable after treatment and had been left unattended to sleep through the night.
At approximately 4:30AM, a nurse checking on her patient's status discovered the gory scene. According to forensics, the attack occurred between 4:00AM and 4:20AM, and appears to match the profile of three earlier attacks in Palo Alto, Pacifica, and the Golden Gate park. Survellience cameras outside the room show no one unknown entering or exiting the patient's room, and leaving authorities baffled as to how the attacker gained entrance. Police authorities and the nurse in question have refused to provide further details on the scene or the case in general, though they have stated they are looking into a connection between her murder and the attack earlier in the evening.
Friday, April 29th
A fifth body has been uncovered in the Santa Cruz mountains, floating in the Lexington Reservoir off of highway 17. While the four other bodies were discovered within a day of their murders, forensic dating places the day of death between April 6th and 9th, making this the earliest known murder. Unlike the other cases, in this instance the attacker(s) appears to have attempted to conceal the body by filling its chest cavity with stones from the area before dumping the body in the Reservior.
Thursday, May 5th
As of today, authorities believe that this spree of gruesome murders has been interrupted. The first five deaths appear to have been spaced three or four days apart, starting around April 7th and continuing through April 24th, and no further bodies have been found in the last ten days. Police suspect that the attacker(s) have went to ground now that their actions have caught a great deal of media attention, however they still have no solid leads though the investigation is proceeding.

For those Kindred that pay attention to mortal news, a news story has been developing that may have caught their interest. Two weeks ago, a young woman was found dead near a trail in the Windy Hill Open Space Preserve. Nine days ago a elderly woman was found dead on the beach in Pacifica. Three days ago a teenage male was found dead outside the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. Police have been tight with the details of the case, however reports have learned that they are certain the three are connected and appear to have been cult related slayings. Rough details leaked to reporter indicate that the murders were particularly gruesome, with the bodies being partially dismemberment and drained of blood and other bodily fluids.
